How Snow Cool is building its business in India's growing HVAC services market

By Daily Ledger Spotlight · 11/4/2026

Founded in 2007 by Sagur R Nangia, Mumbai-based Snow Cool has grown into a residential and commercial HVAC solutions provider. With expertise spanning multi-brand AC sales, installation, maintenance and large-scale projects, the Andheri West company serves over 100 housing societies and corporate clients, building its reputation around engineering expertise, dependable service and long-term customer relationships.

Mumbai-based HVAC company Snow Cool has grown from a local air-conditioning business into a service and project solutions provider, working across residential societies, corporate offices and institutional projects.

MUMBAI: As temperatures rise and summers become increasingly demanding across Indian cities, air-conditioning has evolved from a lifestyle convenience into an essential part of modern urban infrastructure. In Mumbai, where high humidity, coastal conditions and dense residential development create distinct cooling requirements, reliable installation and maintenance have become particularly important.

For Sagur R Nangia, founder and proprietor of Andheri West-based Snow Cool, this presented an opportunity to build a business around a relatively simple proposition: air-conditioning customers need more than a product. They need dependable installation, technical expertise and service support that continues long after the purchase.

Founded in 2007 at Florida Building in Shastri Nagar, Andheri West, Snow Cool has spent the past 18 years expanding its presence in residential and commercial air-conditioning solutions.

Building a business around service

When Nangia entered the HVAC market, he identified a recurring concern among customers: the gap between purchasing an air-conditioning unit and receiving dependable after-sales service.

Installation quality, refrigerant leakage, inadequate maintenance and unclear accountability were among the issues that could affect equipment performance and customer experience.

Snow Cool's business model was developed around addressing these requirements through an integrated approach covering product selection, installation, maintenance, repairs and eventual equipment disposal.

"In a coastal city like Mumbai, air-conditioning systems have to operate under demanding environmental conditions. Installation quality and preventive maintenance play an important role in equipment performance and longevity," says Nangia.

The company follows a service-led approach, aiming to provide customers with a single point of contact across different stages of an air-conditioning system's lifecycle.

Its philosophy is reflected in its slogan: "From Installation to Disposal – We Do It All."

A multi-brand approach to cooling solutions

Over the years, Snow Cool has expanded its product portfolio to include air-conditioning brands across Japanese, American and Indian manufacturers.

Its portfolio includes Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, O General, Hitachi, Toshiba, Carrier, Blue Star, Voltas, LG, Samsung, Panasonic, Haier, Lloyd, Whirlpool, Godrej and Bosch.

The company caters to different requirements, ranging from conventional split and inverter air-conditioners for residential properties to cassette, ducted and larger commercial cooling systems.

This multi-brand approach allows customers to explore equipment based on their space, cooling requirements and budget rather than being restricted to a single manufacturer.

Beyond product sales, the company also undertakes installation and maintenance work, positioning itself as a solutions provider for both individual customers and larger projects.

From residential societies to institutional projects

A significant part of Snow Cool's business comes from residential and commercial projects.

According to the company, it currently serves more than 100 residential societies through Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs). These contracts cover routine servicing, preventive maintenance, cleaning and breakdown support.

The company has also undertaken institutional and corporate assignments.

One of its notable projects involved the Government Circuit House in Somnath, Gujarat, where Snow Cool supplied and commissioned more than 30 heavy-duty 2-ton cassette air-conditioning units for VVIP suites, along with over 50 inverter air-conditioning units for other accommodation facilities.

In Mumbai, the company has also worked with Atomberg Technologies Pvt. Ltd. at its Vikhroli premises on commercial Mitsubishi Electric ceiling cassette air-conditioning installations.

These projects reflect the company's move beyond individual residential installations towards larger and more technically demanding HVAC requirements.

Why installation and maintenance matter

While air-conditioning purchases are often driven by brand, price and energy ratings, installation quality can significantly influence the performance of a system.

Inadequate vacuuming, moisture in refrigeration lines, improper piping and poor commissioning practices can contribute to operational problems.

Snow Cool says its technical processes include nitrogen pressure testing, deep vacuuming and systematic installation checks to reduce the likelihood of such issues.

The company also emphasises transparent estimates and clearly defined service requirements, seeking to address common customer concerns around additional charges and recurring repair costs.

Another area of focus is equipment disposal. As older air-conditioning systems are replaced, refrigerant recovery and responsible handling of discarded equipment become important environmental considerations. Snow Cool says it incorporates refrigerant evacuation and responsible disposal practices into its end-of-life services.

The next phase of growth

India's expanding residential real estate market, commercial infrastructure and increasing dependence on climate-control systems are creating opportunities for HVAC service providers.

For businesses in this segment, the challenge is not simply selling more equipment, but building the technical capabilities and service infrastructure required to support increasingly complex cooling systems.

Snow Cool's journey reflects this transition from a neighbourhood air-conditioning business towards a broader residential and commercial HVAC solutions model.

For Nangia, the emphasis remains on technical execution, customer relationships and long-term service.

As Mumbai continues to grow vertically and commercial spaces become increasingly dependent on sophisticated cooling infrastructure, businesses that can combine product access with reliable engineering and maintenance services are likely to remain relevant.
